Frequently Asked Questions

1. Who is this wood moisture meter suitable for?

This meter is suitable for carpenters, furniture makers, flooring installers, restoration professionals and homeowners. It can help compare moisture levels in compatible lumber, firewood, wooden flooring and furniture before construction, installation, finishing or storage.

2. What materials are used in the meter?

The meter has an ABS housing and two composite-steel needle electrodes. The housing supports everyday handling, while the conductive pins are designed to penetrate the wood surface and collect the measurement required for the digital reading.

3. Can the Serplex wood moisture meter be used daily?

Yes, the Serplex two-pin wood moisture meter is suitable for regular testing when operated and stored correctly. Clean the pins after use, replace damaged electrodes and avoid forcing them into material that is too hard for safe penetration.

4. What makes this meter different from a pinless tester?

This meter uses two physical electrodes that enter the wood to take a localised reading beneath the surface. This approach can assess internal moisture at the insertion point but leaves two small pinholes, unlike a non-invasive pinless meter.

5. Is Cash on Delivery available in India?

Yes, Cash on Delivery is available at eligible locations across India. Availability may depend on the delivery postcode and order value. Enter your complete delivery address during checkout to view the supported payment and shipping methods.

Accuracy and Usage Notes

• The measurement range and battery type are not specified.
• Batteries must be purchased separately.
• Select the appropriate wood calibration scale before testing.
• Insert the pins approximately 1/8 inch where the material safely permits.
• Pin testing creates small holes in the measured surface.
• Readings may vary with wood species, temperature, surface moisture, density and measurement direction.
• Take several readings at different points and compare them rather than relying on one measurement.
• The stated ±0.5% accuracy and 10,000-use electrode test are manufacturer claims; independent verification details are not provided.
• This meter is intended for wood and should not be presented as a validated tester for walls, concrete or other building materials unless additional specifications confirm those uses.
